The EU is supporting SMEs through 30+ projects in Moldova

The purpose of the Project is to support the development of the MSME Sector in the Republic of Moldova. The Project will be supported by a Commission grant, with a purpose of subsidizing part of the interest rates of the BGK loan in the amount of 5 m EUR to the Republic of Moldova and to implement the technical assistance.

The Confidence Building Measures Programme aims to build trust across the Nistru river by supporting joint efforts in economic development, community advancement, cultural heritage, and local media development.

The main objective of the Action is to provide urgent support to war-affected SMEs in Moldova and Ukraine in their business recovery needs and to overcome challenges and disruptions caused by the war on Ukraine in the supply chains, energy sector, and capital investment, as well as in supporting alignment with the EU acquis communautaire as part of the EU accession path of these two countries.

Proparco to support responsible financial inclusion, empowerment of women, smallholder farmers and rural population in Moldova via O.C.N. MICROINVEST S.R.L. (“Microinvest”), the leader of the microfinance market in the country.

The 'EU for SMEs' project aims to contribute to resilient, sustainable, and inclusive economic development and support the green transition in the Republic of Moldova. It is also improving the investment climate, employability, and business environment for SMEs, particularly in rural areas.

The initiative aims to boost women's entrepreneurship and overall involvement in business across EaP countries by enhancing access to both financial and non-financial business development services.

The "EU4Moldova: Local Communities" project, backed by the European Union, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Austrian Development Agency, and Polish aid, aims to enhance the quality of life and tackle the economic and social impacts of COVID-19 in chosen Moldovan communities, promoting their long-term resilience.

The project empowers Moldovan CSOs to establish social enterprises for sustainable community growth.

The EBRD’s SME Local Currency Programme aims to develop capital markets and encourage local currency lending in the countries it invests in.

The Action contributes to the general objectives of the Instrument, namely to support the SME segment in Eastern Partnership Countries through improving access to finance, in the form of enhanced lending terms and conditions, via providing first loss SME portfolio guarantees.
