The EU4Business initiative, with the support of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, recently brought together EU4Business implementing partners, mostly dealing with access to finance support for SMEs, for a half-day event organised in Chisinau.

The EU4Business initiative with the support of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova has brought together representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Moldovan Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the Organisation for Development of the SME Sector (ODIMM) and Commercial Banks of the Republic of Moldova.

Researchers from the Eastern Partnership region, including from industry and SMEs, have the opportunity to apply for EU grants for participation in large-scale brokerage events and similar activities related to the EU’s Horizon2020 programme for research and innovation.

Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip has met the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Suma Chakrabarti, who was on a working visit to Republic of Moldova last week.

The Republic of Moldova has made progress in the setting up of business, according to the 2017 annual study on ‘The Cost of Doing Business in Moldova’, conducted by the World Bank Group.
