The International Trade Centre is holding a series of advanced workshops on increasing sales efficiency for Moldovan SMEs in the apparel sector, organised in the framework of the EU- funded project ‘Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade – an EU4Business initiative’. The workshops are followed by individual coaching sessions for company’s managers.

The first workshop in the series took place on November 5-8 on the topic of ‘Managing the assortment and preparing a seasonal fashion collection’, led by Galina Kravchenko from Fashion Consulting Group (Russia). The workshop and coaching sessions taught the participants from a pilot pool of apparel companies to:

  1. Manage the assortment structure and matrix
  2. Apply the methodology of commodity stocks planning and calculation of assortment matrix for a season
  3. Know and use commercial fashion trends for 20/21 season for womenswear assortment
  4. Prepare a fashion collection for a wholesale exhibition on the example of one participating company:
  • processes and techniques for creating a collection
  • collection composition collection fullness and balance patterns
  • qualitative characteristics of the collection as a whole and individual models: compliance with positioning, compliance with commercial trends, commercial potential.

The second workshop took place on December 2-5 on the topic of ‘e-commerce for the fashion industry’, led Mohamed Es FIH. Project beneficiary SMEs got detailed, technical knowledge on a series of e-commerce related topics, such as:

  • Corporate Internationalization to access EU and or US market (access to PayPal, Amazon etc.)
  • E-Logistics for Fashion industry (Amazon FBA, E-fulfilment and returns management)
  • Marketing content for International Ecommerce
  • Labelling and packaging for cross-border ecommerce exports
  • Omnichannel Customer Support for Fashion industry
  • Digital Marketing Strategies for Fashion Industry.

The third workshop in the series takes place this week, December 9 to 13 and is led by Natalia Chinenova from Fashion Consulting Group (Russia). The subject of this workshop is “Increasing wholesale sales efficiency”, covering the following topics:

  • Wholesale sales planning technologies.
  • Monetary and non-monetary motivation of wholesale sales managers.
  • Why the showrooms are needed; the influence of communications on the wholesale sales level.
  • The influence of logistics on the wholsale sales level.
  • Wholesale sales reporting and analysis.

The above experts will continue assisting the selected Moldovan apparel SMEs in 2020 with individual in-company coaching and consultancy.

The workshops are organised with the Centre of Excellence and Acceleration in Design and Technologies “ZIPhouse”.
